Sorry about the double post, but I've been noticing that there seems to be an increasing number of students at my school who are telling me they don't think dinosaurs existed. It's quite depressing to see perfectly smart kids fall prey to such unnecessary doubt, to be honest. |

Ask them what evidence is there for such claims. Drill them until they squirm and admit it's just someone's bullshit propaganda

Believe me, Gorsh, I've tried. They still insist that any animal older than 10,000 years is a fake. They just keep repeating the "you weren't there" cliche like a broken record, and claim there's no real evidence that any creatures ever walked the Earth before mankind (well, at least no real evidence apart from the body fossils, trace fossils, mummified and frozen corpses, DNA fragments, cave paintings, radiometric dating, and other forms of evidence that exist in spades). |

When faced with such idiocy, I usually pierce their stupidity with showcasing their inherent hypocrisy and ignorance, by pointing out how sheep-like they are. |

If they insist - "Please, if you're so sure, present me with evidence for such claims". By evidence I mean something on a level of unbiased, peer-reviewed scientific paper, not an empty claim.
"Neither were you" is probably my favourite response to these. Besides, they cannot definetly prove you weren't there. It's not like they can be sure that you're not some type of immortal shapeshifter drifting through time and space.
So, they claim humans came to life first? Proof pls. All they do is make claims. They have nothing to back up them with. I suggest pissing them off until boiling point with logical questions. |

I may just try that. Hands up if you think the official term for pissing someone off to boiling point in a debate should be officially called "the Gorsh method".

My hatred of Edmontosaurus's comb annoys the hell out of me. At least there's a chance that the comb might not be present after all |

What don't you like about Edmontosaurus's comb? I don't see how it's much different from the crests of lambeosaurines. |

Personally I dislike this crest on the Edmontosaurus, because it served him nothing contrary to Lambeosaurines who had imposing crest for nuptial parades. After maybe also used this crest for nuptial parades, or I suppose it is just a bone outgrowth. I give my personal opinion, after maybe I'm wrong on this theory ![]() I would like to have your opinion, is it possible that the Edmontosaurini could have feathers ? Not very likely, the mummies don't present any trace of feathers in areas where they would be logical to exhist. |

I don't think feathers were likely to be widespread on Ornithischia in general TBH (except for quills on ceratopsians, and maybe feathers on smaller hypsilophodonts). |

So far all found hadrosaurs were recognized as whole-scaly. If any soft integument was present at all, it would be sparse and most likely purely decorative in nature. |

Well, we can't choose what we want and what not in nature world. If there is the strong evidence that Edmonto has crest, then it has.... I want turkey to have fluffy head too... They would be cooler, but again. Mother earth says "No", so I have to accept that turkey has bald head. Edited by Mathius Tyra, Mar 5 2014, 08:48 AM.

I've read an article about it. I like the idea of some kind of "decoration" in the edmontosaurus head... but i have a couple of question. Was this found in just one specimen? And how many fossiles of this species of edmontosaurus de we have? Because as exiting as it may be, if this thing was found in just one specimen in the context of dozens or hundreds of fossiles, then it might just be a deformation of some sort, even a tumor. Can someone solve this doubts?
