They tried...

But failed miserably.

If people keep reconstructing feathered tyrannosaurs like that monster, I am not surprised by the many who prefer them scaled.

This is...urgh.
I'm really happy, that there are many artists on DA, who restore Nanuqsaurus properly feathered.
Hopefully we get enough of those to let this ugly thing sink into the deeps of the Internet. xD

JP dinosaurs aren't even ugly. They look perfectly fine, just inaccurate by today's standards.

That thing...on the other hand.

How would it even survive in Alaska, no matter what time period?

Well, hadrosaurs ranged as far north as Alaska, and they did just fine despite being scaly. Not that I'm defending this monstrosity that the artist had the nerve to call a Nanuqsaurus, however.

Feathered hadrosaurs and sauropods annoy me (with the exception of philly's Antarctic titanosaur). Even a feather nazi like me has his limits.

Woolly hadrosaurs make little sense to me, though I don't see why wouldn't they sport some bristles or spikes :P

The overuse of term T-rex by people who claim to be interested in paleontology. ._. It's just... uh.

Bristles and spikes are fine, I just mean actual feathers. :P

I just don't generally like feathers on anything other than polar sauropods and basal sauropodomorphs.

What's worse is that reconstruction of Nanuqsaurus was used on a DFW news station, I think FOX NEWS...
