Where did i said it was innacurate? I just don't like his artistic style. It looks too rough with those strong textures for my taste.
He was referring to Oviraptor. Not you.

I agree. Not really a fan of how he uses those flaps and spikes all over his theropods. Reminds me of those horrid Spinosaurs from back in the day.
Personal taste aside, you really can't compare it tough, as Felipe's stuff, like them or not, are top notch accurate and based on LOTS of joint work with top grade paleontologists, plus he's the one doing Brazilian dinosaur skeletals so in a way or another, Felipe Alves Elias is Brazil's Scott Hartman.
I never said it was inaccurate either...

I wasn't saying you called them inaccurate, i was just saying that comparing them to "those horrid spinosaurs" back in the day is not a fair comparisson, as they are fundamentally different both in style and in substance

Admittedly tough, he does go a little overboard with the spines sometimes.

Felipe Elias is the first and so far only professional paleoartist (that I', aware of) to put some of my stuff in his favourites on DeviantArt. Dude's pretty chill as well, so he gets NO complaints from me there.

His work's pretty good too. He has this weird way of applying comic-book styling and technique onto accurate dinosaur "structure". It's pretty good. A bit on the flappy and spiny, comicbook side of things but nothing beyond reasonable.

That said, it bothers me that the super spiky Spinosaurus of "back in the day" are being called horrid. Accurate or not, Todd Marshall's Meatloaf-saurs are EPIC.They've always been a heavy source of inspiration for my own stuff, believe it or not.

So I'm going to officially declare these as some of my favourites, because for once, screw accuracy.

These look an awful lot like the Utahraptors from the video game Primal Prey.

All of the Dinosaurs in Primal Prey are based on Todd Marshall's Meatloafasaurs

BTW I'm surprised to learn that the Anchiornis restoration is from just this year. Didn't know Todd Marshall was still in the paleo-art business.

So anyway, I've decided that after a long conversation over what kind of feathers I'd give a T. rex, perhaps it's time I show everyone my absolute favourite T. rex ever.

...Mine...

... With a little bit by which I mean a ****ton of help from a very good friend of mine, but still...

...Mine...

Wow Dg, your rex looks similar to one i did a few weeks ago... which is also my own favorite

But back on track, I really love the Ember Cryo skin from PCE

(Though I really want to show my Suchomimus skin variants for Mesozoica)

I just love how the artist makes the animal come to life, especially the details on the feathers.

Oh if they did, they would have some issues.

(Mainly because Im in Mesozoica and this may be a possible rex skin, and that would ruin them completely)

Thats the best Patagonykus i've seen as of yet, seriously this thing is crazy hard to draw due the fact that there are no useful references of them.
