I'm not slow! That's just my moe!

If it's meant to represent Austroraptor that raises an alternate point though, would this animal really need a keen sense of smell to begin with? A lot of other birds besides vultures don't have separate nostrils and they get along fine with only a minimal sense of smell. Dromaeosaurs didn't have cartilaginous or muscular nasal structures like mammals do, so perhaps the single larger opening would have been easier for Austroraptor to house a specialized adaptation to "clench" shut when dunking underwater in pursuit of prey. Or it could have just made it easier to quickly expel unwanted water.

In vultures it's an adaptation against aerodynamical drag. Kind of like the petrel tub-noses.

Both pterosaurs and birds are generally lacking in term sof olphaction, probably due to the aerodynamical drag, and are forced to rely on this kind of anatomical speciation. Bats don't seem to be modified in a similar way, presumably due to the rhinarium, but they are notably also not very frequently smell-focused beyond flying foxes.

Volaticotherium, though, does have an unusual nostril.
