Except it's tremendously outdated, skin-wrappy and all of that
Once again, this is the "Favorite Dinosaur (Prehistoric Animals) Reconstructions" topic, not "The most accurate reconstructions" topic. So is up to everyone's personal taste. Also these reconstructions are at the end pieces of art, so they can be also appreciated just for that (like really old or outdated paleoart that still look beautiful despite being completly inacurate)

Case and point: Charles R. Knight's stuff.

Those Daedon's are actually more accurate that many modern depictions. The look like real animals unlike the nightmaresish being that they looked like in pop culture.

Looking at the fossils this seems a very good reconstruction (except the skin; we can't know how that was).
I'm not telling that this reconstruction is better than the other, because as Ignacio say this is the Favorite Dinosaur Reconstructions topic ;) .

Indeed, this reconstruction was considered accurate in the time of WWD or other documentary.
Now with all new discoveries made for this species (like the others), it is considered that this is outdated.

But that does not prevent him to prefer this one.

This is the same for any other species such as Trex, some people will prefer the current reconstruction and Accurate & other will prefer something classic like Prehistoric Park or Jurassic Park.

This is his personal choice of wanting to say that he thinks this is the best reconstructions, we are not on a topic where has the right to post only what is Accurate.

Anyway.

The second one is the better. Not only it shows off the bizarre proportions better, it also has a smug cat look to it
