Because he is dying xD . I mean, being kept in a small cage and victim to scientific experiments as a baby until it grew up to an adult. It is totally not a great life :P

The terror birds for season 3 actually can be considered realistic. For example a vulture doesn't have neck or head feathers so the food won't get stuck on his neck and maybe a terror bird might need something like that.

I'm just not especially partial to the look, let alone the bare belly :P
and then theres the protrusions on the upper bill which aren't exactly realistic
by primeval standards they are probably one of the most realistic

could certainly use some feathers on its underside, but still very nice
I notice a trend with his work that he is against feathers, somewhat disappointing since he does an otherwise lovely job
