While we're on the topic of Witton's art:![]() This is easily my favourite reconstruction of Therizinosaurus, or should I say Pigeonsaurus.

Those allosaurs look a little shrink-wrapped IMO, but still cool.

There is no evidence for Nyasaurus to have feathers but there is the possibility to have feathers, I just posted |

I'm pretty doubtful, and seeing as there is no hard evidence, I'll remain doubtful. Look, I'm not as much as a dino fanatic as you guys are, so I don't know as much as you guys do, but I'll show you a little glimpse of what I know as of now. -Dinosaurs, pterasaurs and crocodiles are archosaurs -Archosaurs either evolved during the early triassic or at some point during the late permian -Archosaurs are in two different groups, Pseudosuchia and Avemetatarsalia -Nyasasaurus may or may not be a "dead end" if you will, in dino evolution and the dinosaurs we know and love today are descendants of creatures like Herrerasaurus or Eoraptor. -Nyasasaurus is believed to be a few million years older than Eoraptor or Herrerasaurus. So, to me, it seems as though Nyasasaurus wouldn't have had feathers, maybe not even protofeathers, because it may not even be related to other dinosaurs! Edited by Drax, Sep 9 2014, 10:07 PM.

This really digs into the problem of what was, and what wasn't, an ancestral body cover of Archosauria (though it's interesting that Pseudosuchia and Avemetatarsalia seem to be stemming from highly active, maybe even 'warm-blooded') and I doubt it'll be solved easily, given how hard it is to find well-preserved soft tissue remains, and how fossilization is a rare occurence.![]() Inaccuracies and wild assumptions aside. This piece is GLORIOUS. Edited by Similis, Sep 10 2014, 01:32 AM.
