I am quite fond of TSL's T. rex, despite the sparse feather coat, which I rather like, truth be told.![]() |

I also liked it like that. Maybe a bit more of feathers in the head and tail, but i also think that Tyrannosaurus wasn't covered in a full feathered coat. |

Same here. I generally only like reconstructions that depict dinosaurs as fluffballs, but for some reason I don't mind that one. In fact, I like it a lot, even if it isn't what I consider to be the most realistic restoration. Edited by Justice Society of America, Sep 13 2014, 07:24 PM.

I actually find this depiction of Spinosaurus more accurate than the quadruped depiction, the way its standing reminds me of a grebe or a cormorant, both are birds that ares mostly aquatic and due to their anatomy, not great at walking. Edited by Ulquiorra, Sep 13 2014, 07:31 PM.

Both full-body feathering and partial feathering are equally likely for Rexy IMO, so I'm not really betting on one or the other. However, I agree that the TSL Rex looks very nice, and quite accurate for the most part. |

Yes i agree that they are both likely, but since there is no direct evidence in favor of one or the other i would choose the one i like the most

It could've been fully feather and partially scaled, although the scales like those on a birds legs/feet, modified feathers, rather than reptile scales. |

Yep probably. I just think that Yutyrannus was the result of environmental pressures and not the rule on tyrannosaurs. Is clear that feathers were a common trait in the family (probably) but i think other species like T. rex would have less featheres and more scales (maybe something similar to Kulindandromeous? I know is an ornitischian but just to give you an idea of how i imagine it). |

Personally, I would've like the TSL Rex a teeny bit more if they added a tail fan. Tail fans are awesome. |

That looks to mammal like for my taste but is an awesome concept (although it looks more like a anteater than a dino). |

Never mind, i just checked and i was totally mistaken about this The environment was nothing like that of Yutyrannus.
