Favorite Dinosaur Reconstructions

Just call me TLP!

I also wanted to post some of my favourite dinosaur reconstructions! Especially one of it is likely not up-to-date anymore, so stay cool! :D

First one, a pair of Carcharodontosaurus! It is a digital painting, but I cannot remember where I found it. The reason why I like it, is just the portrayal of this big predator (for me they look kind of majestic and elegant because they are not so bulky, instead they look like a real agile predator)!

Number two is the "oldschool" Spinosaurus from Planet Dinosaur (I guess many of you will know how it was portrayed ;) )!
The color scheme of this Spinosaurus is the reason why I like it, especially the conspicuous colour of its big sail. For me the whole color scheme doesn't seem exaggerated!

The last one is from an old book called "Die Welt der Dinosaurier" written by Maria Luisa Bozzi - I don't know if there is also an english version of this book. I think the first (original) release of this book was in 1993, so some reconstructions are really outdated, but this portrayal of a Baryonyx with its small and long crocodile-like head, the big claw and also the pose of a "fishing" dinosaur still seems be correct. One of the main reasons why I like this painting is that it showes a new side of predatory dinosaurs (remember this pic is between 10-20 years old, at that time this dinosaur was something really new ;) ).

So what do you think about this paintings? (I know there is a big Spinosaurus-thread, so we don't have to talk about anatomy here - more focussing on the colour scheme while talking about Spino :D )

For the first one, the reasons you like it are exactly the reasons I hate it xD These poor Carcharodontosauri look totally anorexic.

The Carchar looks a bit too thin for my taste though, it looks more like Allosaurus.

And That Theri... OMG! No word can descripe such awesomeness!

@Mathius Tyra: Hmm ... the Carcharo really looks a little bit like an Allosaurus xD

@Julien: Feathered dinosaurs are cool, I will go along with that, but the Therizino's tail reminds me a little bit of this!

And why, may I ask, is it so implausible that Therizinosaurus could've had a tail like that?

The Austroraptor of the same game should be ashamed at this point. xD

I've never said that is implausible just that the tail looks like the tail of a peafowl. And as we know, there are feathered dinosaurs, maybe Therizinosaurus had a peafowl-like tail? :silly:

To be honest it reminds me more of a Giant Anteater tail :P
