The only criticism I could give is that shrink-wrapped Thalassdromeus. |

YES YES YES YES! Finally someone got troodontids right! Is this Conway's? it sure as hell looks like his style, nonetheless it looks badass see, troodontids had assymetrical ears, which would only be usefull if they had facial disks like owls do, add to that the fact that owls do not look even the least bit like their skeletons ![]() and its pretty safe to assume troodontids were atleast owl like in appearance. Indeed, the chances seem very good that troodontids looked at least a little bit like owls in life. And yes, it is indeed Conway's. All four of them are. Edited by CyborgIguana, Oct 5 2014, 08:22 PM.

The problem is that none of these parts actually exist. They were all seen by Peters and by Peters alone. |

Their similarities regarding anatomy suggest a similar lifestyle and probably hunting tactics but it doesn't mean that they looked like owls. I'm not saying is impossible, just that is no proof that they look like that. Alvarezsaurids like Heptasteornis or Bradycneme are more likely to have looked like owls than troodontids in my opinion. Although i agree there are anatomical similarities. |

I'd agree with you, but the presence of asymmetrical ears in troodontids does imply the possibility of large, owl-like facial disks. |

Well their eyes also points forward so that is another point for that theory... and they were clearly nocturnal animals. It could be a possibility indeed, i'm just wouldn't go as far as to say that is proof that they looked like owls and that any other reconstruction is wrong. |

I'm just going by what Austroraptor said, I assume he has sources at hand. |
