More from our lord and saviour John Conway.
Its a dinosaur version of a pearlscale goldfish.
This isn't even extreme by Ankylosaurian standards. Some of them had such extremely widened ribcages and short, stubby legs that they looked like walking coffee tables.

I love Conway's and Witton's art because they rarely ever make the terrain unnaturally flat. Even open spaces that they portray are irregular and don't have artifficial look :D
That's what I like about them too. That and the fact that they're some of the best IMO at portraying dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures as looking and behaving like actual animals.

MFW when I noticed it with the first look at the picture and didn't mistake it for a suchian. ◕‿◕

Probably because I usually expect things like this from Conway. His paintings always contain something brilliantly authentic.

If I were a big Tyrannosaur, I would be so happy if I managed to flip that thing on its back, seriously, look at that meat ball belly!

Now a little off topic question, will you only be able to play as dinosaurs in saurian or can i be, say a champsosaur if i wish to?

Back on topic, what mosasaur and what ankylosaur are those?

Ankylosaur is Denversaurus/Edmontonia, mosasaur is Mosasaurus IIRC.

Also, I recall someone mentioning that gameplay might not be available for the champsosaur given that it probably had a somewhat boring lifestyle of basking in the sun for long periods of time (IIRC, Saurian is trying to stick really close to probable lifestyles)

I see, my main question was mainly if non dinosaurs will be playable, the champsosaur was more of an example

because lets be honest, that concept is AWESOME.

Ah. In that case, I have no idea. AFAIK only dinosaurs have been shown so far as being playable

I cannot believe they managed to get Arvalis of DeviantArt on concept work... I actually referred to his work a lot while drawing up a certain ref sheet for a certain creature of a draconic nature.

But a cetacean dorsal fin on the mosasaur? Was that a thing?
