Thank you for the set, Azrael!

I guess they just dumped every bird in one enclosure... I don't really know. Employees in shops here never really know anything about the animals. They're just high school kids who need jobs. |

They're not really abusive. Our shops are generally clean and the animals have food and water; sometimes they just don't know anything in specifics. It's really bad with fish. You can ask suggestions for a fish for your 2 gallon desktop tank and oftentimes the employee will recommend you an oscar or a clownfish. I did this once just for the heck of it with an obviously ignorant employee and asked if the sea urchins got along with bettas. He said he wasn't sure but probably.

Regard to the bird prize, here in Thailand, you can get Canary at 1,500 - 5,000 bath, depend on breed. |

The best way to not get your heart broken, is pretending you don't have one.

I'd still be interested to see them! I like puppies, they're cute! Anyway, I really want a few birds for myself, but that might not be such a good idea. I have a cat, and he has a habit of finding his way into unusual places. I couldn't guarantee the safety of my tiny feathered theropods while he's around.

Our cat is not a hunter at all and doesn't show much interest in the birds. He cannot reach them regardless. |

Well, my cat is a different story. He's even somehow, repeatedly, gotten onto my diorama where I keep all my dinosaur models. Which, BTW, is nearly 4 feet off the ground! |

My old cat was able to leap straight to the top of the 6 foot fridge. He also could somehow get on top of doors. Cats are astonishing jumpers. Puppy pictures are no longer an option. Only necessity. XD Edited by Admiral General Aladeen, Dec 14 2013, 12:06 AM.

I'd recommend trying bird breeders or bird fairs. They will sometimes even give birds away for free and they almost always have them in good condition (where I live). Otherwise they'd be banned for the mistreatment of animals. And anyway you have to take really good care of birds for them to breed. And on the subject of budgies ( ) it's best to not get ones that are too big, with large fluffy chests or heads or just any that look out of proportion because they are show birds and inbreeding sometimes occurs to get the perfect shade of color and stuff (which is sick). And I don't like it because they are trying to make the budgie something it's not, if you understand my point. That goes for all show birds. Just like the breeding of dogs resulted in pugs and stuff.
