Now that's just crazy talk.

So, ever think of getting your own dog?

And if so, what breed? Or would you adopt one from a shelter?

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

Right now we have three family dogs and aren't getting anymore.

When I am out on my own, I do plan to have a dog and I would almost certainly adopt a shelter animal, probably a young one. My personal favorite "type" of dog would be between 25 and 60 pounds, not too big and not tiny and helpless. I really like Jack Russels, German shepherds, and collies but since I'd be getting from a shelter I'd be happy just to save a mutt; most shelter dogs in my area are shepherd/terrier mixes anyway.

I prefer mutts, they are generally healthier due to less inbreeding ;)

You have some really nice pets, Sheather! I've been wanting a pet rat, but I have yet to convince my parents that the domestic ones aren't anything like the wild ones.

Oh wow I had no idea how crappy this camera was for video; this is very low quality.

Either way, here's a video of my birds.

And my rats.

And my adowable cat.

Embrace all of their various animal cuteness!

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

Last week, I obtained a third finch for my flock. She's of a different but related species in the same genus (a domestic society finch) and they all get along well. She's a lot less timid than the spices, though still not handle able. Her docility - a result of her domesticated nature - has helped the two others to become less fearful, though. And she's much more active and fun to watch (and loud as hell in comparison to them).

^ Not happy to have a camera coming towards them in the cage. xD

^ A bit more settled.

Their cage is a bit more furnished now. It's rather small and after the holidays they may get a bigger one. It looks smaller than it really is in these photographs, however.

Whoa! Great addition to your flock! It would even cooler if you can get the society with original coloration!

Btw, the videos are so great. Really show me how hyper rats are.

They're really rambunctious - when they aren't sleeping 13 hours a day. :P

I don't think I've ever seen a wild-type society. They're all domestic colors here.

Your birdies are really cute too and i like you furnished the cage. I hope you can get a new one of a larger size though :P

Here it is the original morph of society finch. More similar to the ancestor White-rumped Munia.

The belly pattern is just gorgeous!
