I grow tons of stuff myself; a bunch of fruit and berry trees/bushes, an ornamental cold-hardy banana tree, cacti, a potted lemon tree which I grew from a seed in a glass of lemonade 3 years ago, a couple of spider plants, and lots of other stuff depending on the season. Does anyone else find a hobby in gardening?![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good on you. We have a huge gardening or as we like to call ourselves hippie community in my little town Ashhurst. Here are some pics. It's mainly my mum and dad but I do allot to. But I mainly just like taking photos of our garden. I'll take some more when it's actually light. The first 3 are old but they are my favorites.![]() This is the glass house my dad built. It's so nice at sunset. Thats a 4'oclock plant that's pink and yellow ![]() And here's another at the same time but when it was cloudy. ![]() And here's are super scruffy garden. This is where we grow useful stuff. That's my mad mama.![]() And (sort of related) I took this yesterday of a monarch butterfly on a rhododendron. We get so many of these. |

i myself have never grown anything, although i help my parent take care of the edge and the rest of the plant (including that huge agave that now looks like a Kraken that stabs any living being that gets too close). next year i hope to plant and grow a lot of clover in my garden, because my tortoise loves it. That cabbage (kale?) is enormous! Beautiful garden you have. I'd love a greenhouse.

Ha! It was a cabbage. I asked my mum. Yeah the glass house is great for growing seedlings and especially peppers. The huge cabbage happened completely by accident. Most of our garden is self seeded and 'accidental', just how we like it. That's an accurate description Furka. We have an agave like thing in The Esplanade Gardens here. They grow Huge!

Everything just happened by accident. I think that we had one pink one and one yellow one and then the had a baby. That's evolution for you. Not really, anyway I finally figured out why Flickar (image uploading site) wasn't working like 2 sec after I posted that last post. Here are some more:![]() Here's a recent pic. You can see spring onion and some foxgloves to. ![]() The garden springs to life when all the weeds start to bloom. ![]() ![]() These yellow and orange flowers that you see everywhere are calendulas, which are a type of marigold. The lovely petals can be used to brighten salads, and also used for calengula creem to heal ya skin ![]() This is a white sussex hen. We now have 7 because we 'acquired' one from over our neighbors fence. ![]() And this is our developing orchard area. You can see the lemonades, no not lemons. They are fantastic. They're a super sweet lemon which you can eat off the tree. You should really try them. Just like the drink. |

I know. Couldn't resist. I just like taking photos of EVERYTHING in the garden. You can expect more. Unless you really don't like the chicken. But look how cute it is! I will argue I am farming eggs.
