Pull my finger!

Basically I rate them, say my opinions about them, and all other stuff. Along with a silly or cheesy picture., and possibly insanely long text.
Today's animal:

Orangutans
Pongo pygmaeus and Pongo abelii
Posted Image

Orangutans are some wonderful animals, probably my favorite of all the great apes. They're intelligent, calm, and funny. I even took a picture with one years ago (now I regret it, since I have a feeling it was caught as a baby in Borneo or somewhere). Orangutans are smart; they can unlock locks, make umbrellas out of big leaves, and even swim through rivers using boats (look at the picture above). One orangutan even manage to escape its enclosure at the Omaha Zoo: it hid a piece of wire in his mouth when his caretakers would arrive, and then use it as a lock pick to escape the zoo. Another orang from some zoo (forgot where) used a cloth to climb out of the hot wire to climb out of its exhibit as well. What smart animals they be. Unfortunately, these wonderful apes are becoming even rarer, due to selfish humans taking their forest homes away to make oil palm plantations, and their babies being stolen as pets illegally. Many "pet" orangutans have even been known to die of boredom in captivity. Even worse, some people even illegally breed these apes for profit. Fortunately, the orangutans are starting to get more conservation they need, including having orphanages for rescued "pets" and forest preserves. But, they still need our help. One thing we can do is to buy products without palm oil or sustainable palm oil. That way, you can protect these magnificent "men of the forest" and their fellows that live with them as well, including elephants and tigers (wait what....).

Animal rating: 10/10

They are wonderful, intelligent creatures.

Don't worry, I'll do the others too. :P

Bottlenose Dolphins

Tursiops truncatus, T. aduncus, and T. australis
Posted Image

Bottlenose dolphins are another cool animal. Like other whales and dolphins, people ignorantly call them fish. But they're not. They're mammals, for goodness sakes. They are very happy creatures. Don't ask. They are very social, and almost very intelligent. But don't be fooled. These creatures have some evil in their bodies. They rape people and other dolphins, and not only that, they also like to kill other species of cetaceans as well. Young males fight a lot, too. Imagine in those poor parts of the neighborhood. Dolphins be ghetto. Sadly, these mischievous pranksters are being hunted cruelly in some areas, like a place in Japan somewhere. People stab them with handheld harpoons. Some dolphins are even separated from their families for life in captivity. These intelligent animals can be taught many things, too.

Animal Rating: 9.9/10

If only they were less..........lovey. xD

I'll just do Asian elephants in general, if that's all right to you.

Asian Elephants

Elephas maximus

Posted Image

Asian elephants are wonderful creatures. They just wander in herds, in the deep jungles. Most common are the Indian ones. There's a pygmy elephant as well called a Borneo pygmy elephant. The other one is called a Sumatran elephant. They are all the same species. Asian elephants are very intelligent and strong creatures, helping to bring down trees and eat their precious fruits and plants and other stuff elephants eat. They are smaller than their African cousins. Their strength and intelligence made them exploited back then, and still today. These poor critters would be wrangled up to a corral, where some guy would lasso one up and keep it for captivity. They are also popular for the circus, a place where animals like elephants are beaten up and chained for entertainment. Dirty circuses. Don't go to them. Elephants are eco-friendly, more so than the bulldozers that mechanically distribute trees. Unlike bulldozers, elephants don't create pollution, unless you're talking about their farts.
