Ich (ick) disease. It is caused by stress and is easily treated with medicine or by heating the tank to 82 degrees for a few weeks. In the United States at least, the ich medicine is very cheap and sold at any pet shop. |

It is not the Itch disease. I treat the water nearly every two weeks, but it might be a velvet disease. I am not sure though. |

If you can't afford to keep their temps correct I would have to agree with them.

One of my biggest problems is my non flying parakeet. He fracture a wing when very young, and because the stupid vet set it weird, the wing is in a weird position. It doesn't hurt him, he just cant control his flight so he opts not to. |

Since, it's fractured, you need to wait until the bones repair. They have hollow bones, and so it won't take much time. |

My only pet problem is the disease that is plaguing among most of my corydoras. I think it's internal impaction. Gotta buy the medicine soon, hope them survive till the medicine arrive.

This is just the topic i was looking for! Recently, me and my boyfriend got two turtles. These are my first reptiles eveeer. They are water living turtles, but i don't know the exact name of the specie. I'll send a picture so you see what they look like! Anyone know how many times i should feed them a day? I've fed them once a day. What water temperature do they want? How long can they breath under water? Should i take them out of their tank and let them dry off once in a while? ![]() |

Looks like some sort of painted turtle/slider. And they require A LOT of special care to survive well, including:

Wow, didn't know it was that complicated. They have a big tank and I've built a platform for them to get out of the water when they wish. I have to buy a heatlamp, haven't got thay yet. Other than that, it seems i've got everything you listed.. I've fed them with turtlefood (something i bought at the petstore) and live fish. I'm thinking of buying shrimp, aparently they like that. The previous owner said they don't like vegetables but they do love chicken, so i'll try that too. But how many times a day should i feed them? After searching the internet i'm a little confused, some say feed them three times a dag, some say once a day. None of the websites accually give the same information, a little wierd. Other than that i think i'm okay
