i am not ferering to the Tsavo lions, which were an exceptional case (curiously Osama had the same injury). in areas of southern Tanzania like the Selous Game reserve, lions have become used to eating people because during the rain season (when all the herbivores are scattered and it's more difficult to hunt) lions move towards rural areas, because there are the warthogs and bushpigs attracted by the crops. unfortunately the farmers have become the victims too often and now some lions have actually learned to dig a hole in the mud wall of the house to get inside and eat the people. |

That iss... terrifying ![]() Anyway, is still humans fault because we invaded their natural habitat with our crops and rural villages. While i agree with you that something has to be done to stop the lions eating the people... to them we are just another prey that has entered their territory... and an easy one to catch too. |

.... Again uncalled for, I mean your still going overboard read what you said... You were being beyond normal sense, in order to stop senseless killing of wildlife, why do you say, "Oh I dream of slitting her throat, hehe.." Now that is just senselessly saying your some homicidal maniac just seemingly want to kill people. Violence of senseless acts such as big game hunting a normal non man-eating lion is horrid still, but it should not be occupied by more violence. That is why your going overboard, besides for the most part the forum is family friendly, saying that with a chance a normal kid comes and sees cursing (even though it's censored) and idiotic displays of being a psychopathic killer then that would scare them or even make them a bit upset do you not think? |

Both of you need to stop the bickering between each other, or you'll both be warned. Please try and get back on topic. |

Find, just to say I was trying to keep it family friendly... Not.... uniquely strange... But yes violence should not go with violence, or just death and fallout will occur... So yeah hunting needs to stop especially with big game hunters who just take the animal for trophies not for food too. Then that woman needs to get that smug smile slapped the hell off, it is just annoying no? |

tecnically the meat of the animals that aren't eaten by the hunting crew (as you need a crew for hnting in Africa, and depending on where you go you eat what you hunt) is usually given to local villagers and not wasted, although i doubt this is what happens in South Africa. |

Apparently Bachman donated the meat etc. to a local village but eating the meat of a carnivore is not quite as healthy, if I remember correctly. Or not as nutritional or something, I forget. |

As far as I know eating hyena for example is really bad for health, not sure about lion. |

Carnivore meat is more likely to contain parasites, not to mention that being on 'top' of the food chain, it accumulates all the heavy metals and whatnot gathered from everything below in the food chain. So basically consuming carnivore meat you might get a dose of what's worst in the environment

So yeah, she didn't do anyone any favors and killed a lion with a huge rifle for essentially bragging rights. As if being in a vehicle and shooting from 60 yards away is something to brag about. |

Yeah I would have taken the meat and at least gave it to some animal at least. Top of the food chain animals do not make good food, that is why we taste bad, that is why lions are bad, why many predators are bad... Plus really anybody can shoot from 60 meters and in a car too, can kill a lion or any animal pretty much, however try shooting it in the face with a pistol I dare her to do that. Go so close you can smell its meaty breath then shoot it dead in the skull without getting a single scratch on you then you can brag all the hell you want.... |

Now no one yell at me for this, lions aren't supposed to be food or trophies, it's just disgusting, as for man-eaters, just because they happen doesn't mean trophy hunting is needed, just relocate or get rangers to kill them. Trophy hunting in Africa has no place in the modern world people, I hope you all understand.
