If I may, I think a nice idea for an animation would be a 'fluffed up' resting pose. Observe: ![]() ![]() While you can't 'puff up' the bird node-wise, I do think you can achieve a similar effect by tucking in the neck, erecting the 'crest' node you made, unfolding the wings ever so slightly and making the bird 'crouch' a little. I would do it myself but I have absolutely no knowledge of animating

I hate the voice in the first vid. ![]() I really hope you do that absolutely adorable bird stretch every bird does: First they do this: ![]() And then they do this: ![]() ![]() But it's just a suggestion any you do what you want. |

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

Small birds do have a very characteristic stretch which they do often; my own pet finches do it quite a lot. It looks almost like a karate chop and I agree it would be an awesome behavior to add I also quite like the fluffing idea. |

Please, one more - actual mating Birds don't have to get genitalia ingame to do this, if they're not waterfowl, tinamous or ratites. Edited by Elephas Maximus, Dec 9 2013, 03:36 PM.

Now im excited . I can't wait to see this thing move in game. I have on question will the transition between the animations be all static or smooth?

As the animations are all made by myself I know the switch poses, thus the transitions are smooth and there are no jerks. (There are some really minor ones at times, but that's because of the IK baking and I can't avoid that.) |

So how do they actually mate? About 'fluffing up', besides the above suggestion, there's an idea that body volume can be increased with alpha secondary anim, so in normal state alphas remain inside the body, like throat flap of WC Tragopan, and in fluffed state they're move through the surface (which can look actually good if the main texture is doubled equally on them). Or an alpha layer all over the body may be created, so the bird just changes its skin as with blinking... Edited by Elephas Maximus, Dec 9 2013, 04:37 PM.

It is great news! I can not wait to see what's next and step animations snacking? because animations eating meat will not be useful for granivorous birds
