hi

It's inability to turn would seem like a hindrance in a prolonged chase like cheetahs do though, would it not? Especially if their prey is more smaller and able to turn quicker.

if I may ask, please tell me everything there is to know about the Hell Creek therizinosaur
I would like to know such things as:
how big it is (inferred from foot prints)
where it may be on the family tree (inferred from foot prints)
and how it survived alongside the tyrant lizard king
,thanks in advance :)

IIRC the theri footprints come from Alaska, not Hell Creek.
The HC specimen is known only from an astragalus bone.

whoops....... well that was embarrassing xD .......thank you for the correction, can any of the above be determined via the bone?

Not sure if there's a paper on the Hell Creek astragalus, but I can tell you that we know enough about the size, shape and age of the Alaskan footprint to suggest it could be a northerly representative of Nothronychus. Uncertain, but Nothro's from the same age as the footprint, and was contemporaneous with species which DO have Alaskan representatives.

I thought the footprint was significantly younger than Nothronychus (probably mistaken about this).

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

I thought the footprint is around 70-69 million years old while Nothro is 92-90 million years.....

That's what I thought too.

Oh.

I thought it was 70 million years old.

Never mind then.

...so can it be determined if the HC and/or alaskan theiri is more like nothro or falcarius (spelling) in terms of structure from footprints and tiny bone?

EDIT:
v----------Incinerox, you just gave me the best idea for a comic :D

They'd be like Nothro if anything. Falcarius was OLD.

If it was more closely related to Falcarius it would be one hell of a ghost linage. (As if 20 M.Y for Nothrorynhus- Hell Creek Therizinosaur wasn't already a pretty big one).

Speaking of Therizinosaurs, do we have enough skull materials to have an idea of how they processed food ?

In terms of more "advanced" forms, we do for Erlikosaurus at least. Everything else, almost nothing. No formal study's been done on actual food processing but we have the material.
