In descending order: 1) Portuguese - It's my mother tongue, being Brazilian and all. 2) English - I'm not sure I should, but I will dare to say that it is as good as my portuguese. I've been speaking it fluently since I was six or seven and so I'm definitely fluent. 3) French - You could argue I'm better at Spanish. I took three years of French, where I had two lessons per week. Although I'm far from fluent, I suppose I can manage it. I understand and write French way better than I speak it. 4) Spanish - I only took a year of Spanish when I was 14 for school, and although I basically have no proper grammatical study, it's similar enough to Portuguese so that I can understand and make my way around it with "Portunhol", a mixture of both. |

Mine are: 1) Malay - My first and main language since I live in Malaysia after all. 2) English - Due to intense exposure to the world of the Internet, video games and a Singaporean tuition school, I can communicate in English far better than the other languages that I had learned. (including Malay)3)Arabic - I'm a Muslim so I just had to learn this language. I can speak a bit in Arabic but not as fluent as the first two languages. 4)Indonesian - Ever since I was a child, I had always watched these Indonesian drama serieses that aired on television. So, I ended up learning the language accidentally. And since Indonesian and Malay words are quite similar, it is really easy for me to learn this particular language. I mostly use this one just for fun. 5)Buginese - As a Bugis person raised in Malaysia, I didn't even learn the language of my race until I was about the age of 12. I learned how to write in Buginese just the other month and there's still a crap ton of everyday words that I still have to learn. Edited by Helryx, Jun 7 2015, 08:48 AM.

I speak: -Spanish: I speak very well (Obvious am from Mexico). -English: I speak more or less but want to learn even more (At my school I'm the one who speaks and speaks English). -French: This language is not much but basic. I also want to learn more about the French. Who speaks Spanish here (even a little) I would like to put a word or phrase in Spanish. Clear after putting the languages you speak at last put the sentence. Greetings. |

Filipino was my first language, specifically, the Tagalog dialect. I then picked up English soon after, but I seem to have neglected my Filipino a bit, as I'm slightly more fluent in English. I frequently mix the two in daily speech, though. |

1)English. My second language, yet I feel equally comfortable and articulate using it as I do about my mother tongue. It obviously comes fast while watching movies or by online gaming, but my first major contact with this beautiful language was at the age of 9, when I moved to Singapore for 3 years, where I spoke it every day. 2)Dutch. My first language, which I have been speaking ever since I could speak. No need for much of an explanation there, haha. 3)French. As I am from Belgium, we are all taught French for a good portion (7-8 years) of our lives at school. I never excelled in it, school-wise, but I comprehend the language completely and am capable of fluently speaking it. 4)Spanish. Another language I've been taught throughout my years at school. In Belgium, some schools have the option of an additional language (German or Spanish, mostly) besides the 3 mandatory languages (Dutch, French and English). I chose Spanish. 5)German. Spanish was in my last school, and I switched schools this year, to one where German was the only option. German it is! I'm not great at it, but it's fairly similar to Dutch, so I manage. 6)Mandarin. Having been on vacation to China twice, and having lived in Singapore for a 6th of my life, knowledge of the seemingly abstract language actually spreads fast! Having had half a school year's worth of Mandarin class in Singapore also helped a little, probably. I don't know anything about the writing anymore, but orally I could explain some (very) rudimentary things, so I have that going for me.Edited by Anton, Jun 16 2015, 04:16 PM.
