Reminds me of my pet turtle when he was a baby. Sadly we had to give him away because he got too big.

No, they say goodbye to females, fly away and die from upcoming winter. Unlike drone bees, male bumblebees are also able to feed on their own, and to pollinate flowers. |

Don't their penis get stuck ? I know male ants have a nervous system developed enough to die from the orgasm or, sometimes, to explode, but I don't know about bumblebees. |

No, bumblebees can have normal sex life. This is the delicate 'penis' of honeybee drone: ![]() And a sturdy 'penis' of male bumblebee. It can be extended & retracted multiple times, even by artificial means when you need to define the species without killing the insect (though I usually do this with dead ones). Funnily, at ARKive the description says it to be female bumblebee genitalia, but believe me this is a male. http://www.arkive.org/small-garden-bumblebee/bombus-hortorum/image-A8717.html ![]() Edited by Elephas Maximus, Jan 20 2014, 03:50 PM.
