You should also sharpen up the skin a bit, I agree with Fridooh. ;)

originally, one_piece

to tell you the truth, i don't see any differences from this and the skin you shown on this post. the problem with this skin is not that it's not sharp enough, it's because there are no transition between different layers of the skin, like you take parts of this mammoth and some from another one and just glue it onto the skin. like fridooh said, it looks very unnatural. and for the hippo, you gonna need a lot more color and texture.

sorry if i sound kinda harsh, i just want to help you improve.

Well, Robbie is helping me with the mammoth skin. About the hippo, I think the current amount of texture and color is fine :) Prehistoric hippos probably didn´t have much color, just like modern day hippos.

Anyways, the skin for the young hippo is done:

The hippo is done! Just got to make the zoopedia, otherwise it won´t show up :)

On a side note, I´m learning to make meshes from scratch, and here´s my first (unfinished) attempt:

Glad to see more people getting into meshing. Good luck with blender! I know it can be a real headache xD

Can't wait to see what do you accomplish in the future :)

I was gonna make it into a fish, but somehow the idea for a giant squid popped into my head and I decided, why not? So I made some edits to the mesh:

I still need to add tentacle alphas, though. Any tips?

There is always something going on...

It's looking good so far, but you know that the tentacles don't have to be alphas, right?
