Now that is a wisely used trophy animal.
Meat eaten by people & animals, and skin & bones make a spectacular display!
Money raised from the hunting licence are used for the needs of game reserve management.

I will say this, bushman actually hunt giraffes because they needed it. People just kill giraffes because it makes them look good. Hunting for the need of resources is good, but not hunting to feed one's ego.

We don't hunt giraffes because they don't live in our countries, and there is such thing as available, but not-so-healthy & tasty cattle. If the giraffes survived in Europe to modern times, they surely would be bred at game farms like deer, moose and wild boars. We could have 3-horned trophy giraffe bulls, growing to record 23 feet tall due to high-quality diet...
It's natural that moral issues are pushed only for appealing animals. No one would blame those who hunt 'ugly' African giant earthworms either for trophies or for bait, but everyone, especially young & sensitive is eager to protect lions even if they're not critically endangered in certain countries that allow hunting (and keeping a stable population of them).
Lions are just damn cute, and that's why you love'em.
But tasty calves beat any adult lion in cuteness.

First of all that is absolutely no excuse to hunt lions. You like humans just because you are one. If you think about it, humans can be trophy animals too. Their population is stable, in fact they overpopulate, I think we need to cull some people. Also the meat is protein filled, the bones could be used for tools and their skins can be used for leather. And if we pay a couple hundred dollars for each human, it could benefit the ecosystem. ;) (your move)

1) humans have nothing that would make them interesting trophies
2) human skin is useless because it's too fragile
3) this is genocyde and it's like going against your own species

and btw, I think giraffes are legally hunted only in some reserves in Namibia and South Africa for the population control.
bushmeat hunters just kill every animal they see in barbaric ways, while only a few, selected individuals are taken by sport hunting.

weird, because I'm just seeing you talking about killing people as if it was normal.

1) Curse you Disney.
2) The human hunting is restricted by law enforcement today. Those are alowed to be killed by designated people (like cops or army) in the case of war, self-defence or death sentence.
And it can't be called hunting because naked ape bodies are required to be buried/cremated ASAP or given to relatives to do this. And a hole in the skull or smashed cavity doesn't look neat on the trophy.
3) For ordinary civilian, killing another one as self-defence and without being jailed/fined is nearly impossible, so don't try this at home (and you will not get the body). And one cannot simply get hold of own or relative's amputated organs or limbs because it's bio-hazard waste :(
4) Human meat accumulates toxins from junk food, there can be easily-transmitted parasites, viruses, and prions (proteins that act like cancer cells).
5) Human bones have a familiar, not-so-intricate shape, they're badly suited for carving because of small size (pachyderm & whale ones are the best). Bones of children are poorly ossified, their epiphyses (ends) are easily detaching, and bones of old men are fragile.
6) Human leather can't withstand heavy pressure, it's good for gloves or parchment.
Human taxidermy is hard to make because of inevitabke seams and skin smoothness. Plastination with polymers in the manner of Gunther von Hagens is the best option besides wet-preservation, in both cases ths skin shrinks slightly (again because it cannot be taken off and tanned without seams).
I'm struggling to get a fresh human for my university, but the best I can hope for are embryos.

Okay, how did this turn from a discussion on hunting to one on whether humans make good trophies?

Because non-primate animals are highly antrhopomorphised in popular culture, and these beliefs planted in childhood serve as basis to utopian views.
Speaking about lions, those are practicing rape, infanticide and same-sex mating without any problems. Kiddies should know it before they watch Lion King.

You sir, have become nothing more than a puppet of groups like SCI, DSC, AND NRA.

I may not be able to come up with a valid argument, but these people I found will.

Greetings citizens of the world, we are anonymous

For a long time now we have been watching with horror, the cruelty that some members of the human race seem capable of inflicting upon animals. Issues such as trophy hunting, dog smuggling, animal testing, whaling, shark and dolphin fishing, destruction of habitats, inhumane slaughter houses, dog fighting, bull fighting, and the trade in ivory, rhino horn and exotic animals, and fur clothing.

Greedy corporations are destroying nature and the corruption of governments allow it. 99% of this is happening for one reason only. MONEY!

Unspeakable and terrible things happen every second of every day while the whole planet is forced to watch, as these cold hearted soulless zombies cause horrific suffering and death to animals, both common, vulnerable and critically endangered species.

The time has come for Anonymous to stand united against such acts. We say NO to these issues and it is now time to raise our collective voice, as a voice for the voiceless. It is time to say NO to the destruction of this planet and the creatures that live upon it.

We have been researching, probing, scanning, and preparing to strike. Our targets have been warned and soon it will be time to act! We are Operation FunKill; a united collective of operations, hackers and activists who stand together against cruelty.

There is no excuse for animal abuse, and now the animals will fight back. Judgement has been passed. U can not disperse us; neither can stop us. You can not kill a hydra by cutting off the head and we are like the shadow behind you, following your every move.

Every day we grow stronger as more people hear about us. And as we grow our anger grows with us, as does our voice and our power. This power will stand for animal rights and as long these rights are disrespected, we will be here, ripping through your servers, hacking, leaking, deleting and defacing as we go, spreading our message without mercy or restraint.

Like those who act against animals without mercy, we will show no mercy to you. It is time to hunt the hunters!

This is not a threat. This is a promise! We are the new face of animal rights. We are the final boss of the internet. We are Operation Fun Kill.

And we are Anonymous.
We are legion.
We do not forgive!
We do not forget!
Abusers… Expect us!

So you see, as long as there are a$$hole people like you, Furka, and Croockedjaw, me and groups of animal welfare advocates will continue to fight for the animals, and you can't stop us.

You know, the government from every country in the world must put up barriers to separate the human world from the natural world. That way none of these chaos would happen.

and that would be impossible, we are part of this world and are made to interact with it.

also Slender, I have no idea what those acronyms stand for, but you look like the only puppet here to me, refusing to listen to other people's opinion and keeping stating your own like a recorder.

also, expect some news from the TRT Staff regarding your behaviour.
