this isn't fault of trophy hunting, it is caused by the fact those country are in a complete mess: rebels, poachers, angry farmers and no authorities that tries to stop this. Trophy hunting has nothing to do with this (actually I'm pretty sure there's no trophy hunting agencies in those countries because of those same reasons).

All african lions have dwindling numbers. A show I recently watched during nat geo big cat week said theres only about 3,000 mature adult males left as male sub adults face starvation and running into mature pride males. And mature males die from starvation, disease, fighting, and trophy hunting.

This one however has little to do with trophy hunting. There's no use of thumping that in this particular case. All in all, lions require more protection, but we must remember that allowing them to overpopulate their habitats would be also destructive.
