The ARK Microraptor. Just when I thought that game could produce nothing more hideous than its pterosaurs there comes something even worse.

May I ask what exactly is wrong with it aside from the colour, shape of the tail fan, and length of the contour feathers? It looks fairly accurate to me otherwise (I think its wings might even be attached to the right finger, but with this size of image I can't really tell) and the problems I mentioned are some of the more forgiveable ones, as they are only recent discoveries or interpretations.

And besides, it's been repeatedly stated in this topic that ARK has deliberately taken major artistic license with most of its animals, so why do some people still insist on criticizing it?

BTW if you really think that's the worst imaginable you should see some of the Microraptor reconstructions from around the time of its initial discovery (and most of those were actually supposed to be science-based).

Is that thing with the Butt back/shoulders supposed to be a Microraptor?

Sadly yes. It also quite literally has four wings if you look closely (as in it has exactly six limbs).

It's by Mike Habib. In other words, one of the paleontologists who helped to establish the quadrupedal launch method for pterosaurs and disprove Donald Henderson's claim of flightlessness in large azhdarchids IIRC. Would hardly call him a failure for that.
I wouldn't say it matters who made it, that art in itself is still a failure.

Paleop there is nothing wrong with that Dimetrodon.
I thought this was the favorite dinosaur reconstructions topic when I put the dimetrodon on there xD
sorry about that

I cannot unsee it now.

Amazing how some artists appearently go through their entire lives without ever so much as seeing a living, breathing vertebrate.

What is it with people making Pachycephalosaurus many times the size it actually was?

That picture looks pretty old. It was probably accurate for when it made. ;)
