IIRC, didn't grass become widespread during the end of the Cretaceous? What time period was this thing set, early or mid Cretaceous, then I see your point? |

Grass evolved in the late Cretaceous, yes. But it evolved in India, and only got about as far as Pakistan (I think) before the K/T event. |
